Video/Voice and Text-Based Chat

The realtime online chat service provides confidential, one-to-one counselling. Chat counselling is an ideal way to explore and clarify your reasons for seeking services, decide which services are most appropriate to your needs or to begin to work through challenges with regular appointments, just like conventional counselling.

Chat counselling is very suitable for people who feel uncertain about direct contact services, or those who are unable to attend our office (such as interstate clients) yet are wanting to work on the challenges they face with the assistance of The Men's Workshop.

The Men's Work Shop recommends you read the Terms and Conditions before accessing these services.

Email

Email counselling and/or coaching is a practical and cost effective alternative to 'direct contact' services like those listed above.

Email counselling has some practical advantages over face to face or tele-counselling:
• Not requiring a committment at a mutually agreed time
• Flexibility in the locations where you work on the challenges you face (you can access responses anywhere you have email access)
• Time to think about and revisit the counsellors responses (and time also for the counsellor to deliberate on responses)
• A permanent record of your 'sessions' that you can return to at any time in the future as well as share with others involved in your situation - your partner, family, friends and work colleagues.
• The opportunity to clarify both your own and the counsellors responses before choosing the next steps

As well as some distinct advantages, email Counselling has some limitations you should be aware of - please read the Terms and Conditions for more information.

Use the 'Contact Us' link above to forward your enquiry about The Men's Workshop's Email counselling and coaching service and fees.

Self Help

Online Courses

The Men's Workshop is currently developing a series of innovative Online self help programs designed to address some of the common challenges faced by the men attending for face to face services at our venue.

The first of these is 'End Stress in 10 Days' - you can sign up now for free right here. Other topics being considered are anger management skills training, improving work/life balance, and a basic parenting skills training program.

These programs will utilise the latest e-learning and training technologies. The aim is to provide the best quality program possible with minimal involvement from staff, giving you (the user) greater control over your development, increased privacy, freedom to use the service anytime, anywhere. We like to think these programs will change the way people 'do' personal development. A little idealistic perhaps, but then...who knows!

If your interested in knowing more about these programs as they become available, simply register as a member and you'll get monthly updates and informative articles via the newsletter, and access to other great resources on this website like our Article and Tip Sheet database

Articles and Tip Sheets

The Men's Work Shop is compiling a large database of carefully selected, relevant and practical Articles and Tip Sheets for members. Topics include relationships, parenting, physical health, emotional wellbeing, work, sport, etc. You will need to be a registered member to gain access to the article database.

If you're a professional and would like to contribute an article or tip sheet (it's a great way to build links to your website), feel free to contact us by email and we'll consider your contribution.
