Research examines men's experience as victims of intimate partner violence

A research project exploring men's experience as victims of intimate partner violence has been released.  The study was commissioned by the Men’s Advisory Network (MAN), supported by a research grant from Lotterywest and executed by researchers of Edith Cowan University.

The research project sought to explore men’s experiences as victims of intimate partner abuse. The main objective was to gather data to guide policy makers and service providers in improving services to male victims of intimate partner abuse. A secondary aim was to guide researchers in how to facilitate men’s disclosureof intimate partner abuse experiences in large-scale epidemiological studies.

Victorian Men's Health and Wellbeing Strategy - Call for submissions

The Department of Health is currently developing Victoria’s first Men’s health and wellbeing strategy. As part of this process a background paper has been prepared that proposes a framework and priority areas for the future strategy. The Victorian Government is now seeking your feedback and would like to invite you or your organisation to make a submission using the submission template provided. Submissions close 5:00pm Monday 31 May.

Australian Institute of Family Studies - Time spent with Fathers

Children are spending considerably less time with their fathers than their mothers, according to research released today by the Australian Institute of Family Studies.

Australian children spend relatively small amounts of time with their fathers, without their mothers also present, the research found.

On weekdays children may spend as little as half an hour alone with their fathers.
